During a trip to Canada I planned to drive from Calgary to Vancouver (7-25 Oct. 2026), stopping in several different hotels on the way, including the Parkside Hotel & Spa in Victoria on Vancouver Island (21-22 Oct. 2026).
The hotel was easy to find, but I was surprised that both towers are part of the hotel, and the underground parking was a little confusing (but included in the room-rate). However, the welcome was excellent, and friendly.
Not sure why, but I ended up with a 2-bed, 2-bath, apartment with a small balcony.
Living Room
The living room was ample, and there was a fully equipped kitchen (with washing machine).
The apartment included a number of ventilators, but the A/C was not very good a warming up the room. However, the living and main bedroom had a fireplace with forced warm air. And it created a very nice atmosphere. Given the size of the rooms I would have like slightly larger TV’s.
Bedrooms
So there were two bedrooms, with a forced hot air fire in the main bedroom. Sheets were good, and the mattress was comfortable (can’t say anything on the second-bedroom). There was a small wall-safe in the wardrobe in the main bedroom, but it was too small for a laptop.
Bathrooms
The main bedroom had a separate bathroom with a free-standing bath. The second bedroom had access to a another bathroom, with a bath-shower.
I would have preferred a walk-in shower, and I hate shower curtains.
Food
Perhaps the surprise of my stay was the coffee-shop. First evening I took a simple, but well prepared, chicken sandwich, and the second evening a very tasty suggestion-of-the-day (braised beef with rice).
Breakfast was French-Toast (seen below), or simply toast with some jam.
